Argentina 1 - 1 Bolivia
Copa America 2011 group stage · 2011-07-01 Referee: Roberto Silvera

Freezing night

Few big things, good

Not big things in this inauguration match. The most important referee decision was the Bolivian goal: for us, people inside the stadium, it wasn´t clear at all, but TV showed that the ball had crossed the line and Silvera got a good mark here, thanks to his lineman. Apart from this, the referee was OK when he had to book, but it gave the impression that he was always going to cut the actions, maybe unnecessarily.

About tricks...

Bolivia surprised when they scored and put their team 1-0 ahead, and from that moment, Bolivian players began to slow things down even more and more... The Uruguayan referee was too lenient with this understandable but tricky behaviour... He didn´t book anyone, and at the end of the match he added only 3 minutes.

Boo

Game? Nothing impressive... Bolivia got what they wanted - not loosing - and worked properly for it. Argentina couldn´t break the Bolivian trap at all, lack of imagination and football, and left a grey image in his first presentation. We expect much more from Messi and therest of the team.
