Burkina Faso u17 0 - 3 Germany u17
WC 2011 u17 group stage · 2011-06-23 Referee: Paul Delgadillo Haro

Worst perfomance so far?

Delgadillo's lesson how to influence a match

No doubt that Germany won deserved. With a good start they set the course for the round of 16. They lead 1-0 when the calamity began..

Decisions

The penalty. Hmm, perhaps he touched Yesil in his calfbone but there are certainly more referees who would not have given a penalty in this situation. Just two minutes later he sent a BFA player off with a second yellow for a tactical foul. Well, the rule book says it is yellow, but some instintive feeling would have been great. But actually it was no real fault by Delgadillo. Then the straight red..that was the biggest joke of the evening. It was a foul indeed, but that must be a yellow card, not a red one. Some words on dive calls..he made three dive calls including a yellow card and at least two of them were totally ridiculous. The linesmen, especially Rodriguez, were very good in offside detection. Delgadillo himself managed to be in centre of attention and that is reason enough for FIFA not to give him any further match.
