Nothing wrong

De Bleeckere did nothing wrong. It was a flawless match for him. I would give this man ten points out of ten, were it not that I'm a bit scared of being overly enthousiastic... This also seemed a rather easy match to officiate, but in the end that is entirely to his credit as well.

The match and not the referee

I watched the mighty Manchester United being pulverized by A.C. Milan. I saw Rooney coming to nothing, Giggs a shadow of himself, Ronaldo resorting to his old 'schwalbe' techniques and a referee who did nothing to save them. I saw Kaka making his usual brilliant goal, Seedorf coming alive and scoring a fabulous 2 -0 and the referee did nothing to impede them. De Bleeckere gave us the match and not the referee.
