El clásico IV or finally a football match

Comparing de Bleeckere's perfomance to Stark's one

I think we all agree that the control was slightly better, no doubt about that. Naturally, the audience plays a big role so that one can say that Camp Nou is more friendly to the referee, FdB had it a bit easier, no doubt about that as well. However, Stark paid more attention to getting the right decisions, de Bleeckere sometimes kept both eyes closed and his has to be asked whether this is what one expects from a good referee.

Wrong calls

If we are honest he must send Marcelo, Carvalho and Lass Diarra off, he can send Alonso and Adebayor, and perhaps Pedro as well off. The first three must be off to my mind, especially Diarra who commited about 10 fouls. Marcelo's foul was rather straight red then yellow. Moreover, he must allow the goal of Real, I can understand Real that they are a bit angry this time. Ronaldo was fouled and then he fell in Mascherano. That was no foul of Ronaldo, it was a foul of Piqué. FdB could have let the play go on in this situation.

Comment on style

So we have a referee who paid attention to be in control. He managed that. But he forgot the rule book many times, I cannot accept that. That has nothing to do with being too lenient, these were simply wrong decisions. Not more, not less. Therefore, I am a bit disappointed of Frank. Much as I liked to....@all members who voted him with a "superb perfomance"...it was no superb perfomance, it was a faulty perfomance with an excellent control!
