ridiculous

No

Just look at him, body towards the camera, face 90 degrees to the left, one hand on his hip, the other in the air, one leg straight, the other slightly bent: the dying swann. And all this to get the attention of his assistant. Ridiculous.

No

And what was that all about? All blond players with short hair look alike? Blond short haired guys get booked by default? Olegario Benquerenca flagged both red and yellow cards the way those men do with their plates on airports to guide a plane. Az-players had to reason with Benquerenca's assistant (probably a much better referee) and explain that the one blond short haired guy who got booked was not the same as the other one who got shown a yellow earlier in the match. Ridiculous.

No

And all bookings were completely out of order. Jenner's and Fritz's for protesting, Steinsson's for heading a ball while lying on the ground. Is that a foul in Portugal? And forward Koevermans wasn't allowed to even stand in Werder's penalty box. This was a fair match, two teams that respected each other. They would have been better off without a referee. Ridiculous.
