Van Bommel

Mark van Bommel had made abit of an ass of himself during the last CL match. Footage of him making indecent gestures at the audience, yelling at players and the referee and almost getting into a fight with his team mate Podolski were perhaps seen all over the world. A still of his angry face and fists shown in a lot of television studios as a background. Lubos Michel must have seen it as well, and as soon as Van Bommel fouled, Michel booked him. And he booked him again, sending him off. Van Bommel protested Michel's decision to award a penalty and got into a fight with Diarra who got his second booking as well. Maybe Van Bommel should get some counselling. Maybe he should be locked up.

Sergio Ramos

Sergio Ramos handled the ball twice. First in his own penalty box (probably) unseen by the referee. The second time he touched the ball with his arm was a second before he scored. This time Lubos Michel did see it and he canceled the goal, making the Germans the winners on a 5-5 aggregate.

Van Nistelrooy

Dutch striker Van Nistelrooy scored a penalty, awarded because Lucio had fouled on Robinho. Both decisions, the canceling of the goal and the penalty were arguable ones. Tiny irregularities with big consequences. I'm not sure if Lubos Michel was right, but the Slovak is always sure of himself. Maybe a bit too sure.
