One could debate which referee would have been the best man to take charge of this match, but given the circumstances it seemed fitting to bring on the Icelandic team, used to practice out in the cold, though few matches are played under the same circumstances.
But nevertheless, mr. Jakobsson and his team did a good job!
Of course the teams (and referees) were playing under very difficult circumstances, with temperature at -9°C at the start of the match, enough snow covering the pitch so it seemed white and with the lines on the pitch red! But both teams played in the same circumstances and Zenit was better, neither can complain.
Mr. Jakobsson and his team had full control of the match, all the critical points were taken and of course we can always discuss a free kick or two, let alone an offside at one time or so, but all in all, those are things that did not matter in the end. The refereeing team was in full control throughout the match, good job!
