Italy played with at least three Argentinians, as with modern day Trinidad that excepted players for their World Cup matches when they had a grandparent from the country, Italy came up with Argentinians from Italian descent. Defender Luis Monti had even played for Argentina in the 1930 World Cup.

The Czechoslavaks took the lead after 70 minutes. Puc, who had been revived with smeling salt after he was knocked out, scored 1-0.
The second Italian goal came after Guiseppe Meazza hand handled the ball.
