Kyros Vassaras did not fall for Ronaldinho's dives. The European player of the year 2005 etc wasn't able to show his tricks at all, got frustrated and tried to get a penalty a couple of times. The Greek referee looked relaxed and not in awe of the famous players.

not so good

Again his assitants failed him (see: did you know). Calling for off-side when it wasn't and not calling for off-side when it was. Maybe the rule in Greece is different, but those two should at least do some refreshing course. Vassaras' judging seemed to be slightly in favour of Barcelona for a while.

the match

Both top teams were kind of uninspired. Both teams lacked a real striker, Barcelona's Eto'o sat among the audience and Liverpool sider Crouch sat on the bench (until the last minute). Liverpool's defence though was excellent, by not allowing Ronaldinho to show his tricks and keeping Deco and Messi at a distance from the goal, Liverpool managed to quash Barcelona's creativity.
