This is what happened to Heerenveen player Nilsson: he was on his way to be substituted by another player, but because he walked too slowly, he was shown his second yellow. The substituting player, warmed up and ready to show the world how good he is, could take his seat on the bench again. And because Heerenveen coach Verbeek got angry at the referee(s), he was sent off as well.

That was after Skomina had shown 6 yellows, 4 to Heerenveen and I can't say he was wrong. The Dutch were going for knees and shins instead of the ball. Maybe a booking for protesting or walking too slowly is a bit childish, but maybe Skomina got fed up with this match and these players. Both teams were crap.
