Serge Gumienny is not a man who impressed me at first sight. He seemed rather reactive in terms of game management and it was only after some time I realised that he followed the action closely. Tonight, this worked very well as the two teams were trying to play rather positive football. I can imagine that he will be in trouble in a hot match as his body language will not contain aggressive players. He didn't talk a lot, but he was calm and composed which was appropriate on the day.
I missed the first 30 minutes, so I can only tell by what I saw. The two yellows were well deserved (de Michaelis for dissent and Traoré for a clumsy tackling). He let the game flow quite nicely, but whistled for fouls when necessary. It wasn't really a tough match which will affect my marking, but above average to my mind. Need to see more of him to make a sound judgement.
