such a experienced referee this match was a bit of a waste. A top referee taking charge of mediocre teams with mediocre players. Claus Bo should have been sent to Milan or Manchester or Barcelona.

We

have said this before: Claus Larsen is a bit far off from the action and he looks a bit chubby which could make you conclude that he is not in shape. But FIFA referees get tested often enough so that can't be the reason. It is his style: he doesn't have to be everywhere, he has his assistants. And they were sharp, especially watching Twente's forward Janko, the off-side king. (what good is a forward when he stands waiting in an off-side position all the time..).
Anyway it wasn't really the right match for Claus Bo Larsen to remind us of how good he is, let's hope we will see him one more time.

Twente has a player called Janssen who can bend it like Beckham but they have no players able enough to catch that wonderful shot and do something with it. This was a tough match to watch, as if it took them twice as long to play the 90 minutes.
