Baskakov

Russian referee Iuri Baskakov didn't see all the fouls or maybe choose not to see them. A double legged sliding, a hand in the face and even Dutch defender Kromkamp, who could'n stop Arda Turan and used his arms and knees all the time, did only get a warning from the referee, who showed only two yellows. Because nothing seriously wrong happened and no one was injured, Baskakov's style worked well. He's a good referee.

The Turks, wearing numbers like 99, 66 and 55, were much better in the first half, but lost because of their goalkeeper, the wind and maybe because they did'n believe in it. Even 63 year old striker Hakan Sukur couldn't turn the tide.
