Damir Skomina had no real problems during the 90+ minutes. Two correct yellow cards in the first half, for blatant fouls demonstrated to all who was the boss. Mr. Skomina was keen on letting the game flow, and players and spectators were the beneficiaries of this policy. Sorry, but there is a but: the first Real goal was scored after a corner-kick had been taken from the left-hand side. When the ball was in the air, Carvalho rushed into the pack of players, his foot dangerousely high up in the air, causing havoc and crushing into one of the defenders. Reckless behaviour which went unpunished and was an important attribute to the resulting goal. Carvalho was one of the few who broke the norms of fair play well kept by most players, and he should have been booked for another infringement of his, in the first quarter of the second half, for which he was penalised but didn`t receive the personal punishment. Assistant referees Arhar and Stancin, both very experienced at this task, were also of first class.
