Alberto Tejada Noriega took charge of three matches in two World Cups: 1994 and 1998. All in the group stage. He is the son of former FIFA referee Alberto Tejada Burga.

Among the many things in his curriculum, Alberto Tejada Noriega is a urologist and presently the mayor of the San Borja district of Lima until 2010. (in 2009 he seemed to be under investigation for being absent too often, for too much travelling and using state funds for it.)

referee since 1983 and FIFA ref from 1988.until the end of 1998. Tejada took charge of no less than 14 clasicos in Peru (matches between the biggest teams Alianza and Universitario). Next to matches in the South American Copas, he has been active in the Japanese J-League in 1994.
