Voted 3 times worst referee in the world 2006 and 2007. Booked the same player 4 times, awarded a penalty for wearing earrings, sent off his assistant because he allegedly had an affair with his wife. Once forgot to stop a match and play went on for half an hour too long. Still Vim Brillo was selected for the 2006 Dictators Cup held in The People's Republic of North Korea in November and December. He took charge of the matches Zimbabwe - Burma and the semi-final North Korea - Belarus (6 - 0).

WORST

  • Vim Brillo has been selected for the War Crime Tribunal Conference Cup to be held in The Hague November 2008.
  • Vim Brillo's favorite music is ponga-ponga. A style of music only played at the northern part of the island of Bioko. The main instrument is a four string kind of guitar and at every break the audience shouts "ponga ponga". There is a lot of confusion about the meaning of the words ponga-ponga. Some have stated it means "Kill that Guinea Pig!", others say it's just "I prefer the meat well done!". But it probably has a sexual connotation.
  • In 2001 Brillo came home to find his wife in bed with the very player he'd just sent off during a match Police Club- Star Beer Boys. Apparently the player (Julius Kasavubu) had himself red carded often to be able to be with Vim Brillo's wife.
