Najand was born in Kabul and a FIFA referee from around 1975 until the early 1980s.
At the age of 15 Najand was already elected for the Afghan National Football team. In 1943 when he was sixteen he played his first international games in Moscow (USSR), bringing home the silver medal to Afghanistan.
Sultan was multi talented, a national champion at the 400 meters, and gathered many names: Najand thunder, barq, khoftanpin (champion).
Sultan Mohammed Najand passed away at 1991 due to a hard attack.
