Bob Allen started his career as a football player. Later on he became a referee, a linesman and an official.
Football
In 1965 Bob was with the Vancouver Firefighters. They were Pacific Coast Champions and Canadian Champions in Oshawa, Ontario and won the John F. Kennedy Championship game in San Francisco over Los Angeles.
Vancouver Firefighters won the 1973 Challenge Cup. They were also 1973 team of the year in British Columbia.
Referee
In 1977 Bob was appointed to the Canadian National Referee list. From 1977-84 he was a referee and Linesmen for the North American Soccer Leaque. He was linesmen at NASL Soccer Bowl at San Diego (1982) and refereed NSAL Indoor Soccer.
In the 1977-85 period Bob refereed in the Challenge Cup, Kitchener, Ontario.
From 1982-87 Allen was appointed to FIFA/International list.
Career
Bob Allen had the honour to represent Canada on numerous occasions, as both a referee and linesmen in Canada, USA, Costa Rica, Mexico, Honduras, San Salvador and Trinidad-Tobago.
1985
In 1985 Bob received the Official of the Year Award at the BC Athletes of the Year awards. He then also refereed at the Canada Games, St. John, New Brunswick.
1986
In 1986 Bob was recipient of the Ray Morgan Award and he got appointed to the FIFA/Coca Cola CONCACAF Tournament in Trinidad-Tobago.
1987
In 1987 Bob was linesmen at the Under-16 World Tournament, Canada, in Toronto, St. John, Montreal and St. John's.
And
In 1987-88 Bob refereed the final of The Challenge Cup, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
