RICARDO SALAZAR
- This is taken from the site of Judson, his College where he used to play and where he still lives and coaches. It's all in Acronymian and I have no idea what most of it means: "Salazar, a Judson alumn, played three seasons for the Eagles in 1991 through 1993. In 1991 and 1992, the team won NCCAA National Championships and then were the national runner-ups in 1993. He was also a member of the NCCAA Nationals All-Tournament team and a NIIC All-Conference selection in both 1992 and 1993."
- Someone wrote to us explaining: "The NCCAA is the lowest-level of college soccer. It's not really a level -- it's an association of Christian colleges that plays its own postseason championships. Generally, it's lower-level NAIA (a lower division, as it stands, like League One in England, except for colleges) and non-affiliated (lowest of the low) schools.
"The players you hear about who played in college almost exclusively played for NCAA Division I schools -- these are the ones that matter, especially the bigger schools (UCLA, Indiana, Connecticut, North Carolina, Maryland, Wake Forest) and the schools that aren't as big but have a great soccer tradition (Akron, Portland, etc.)"
FYI, as the Americans say.
