A FIFA referee for ten years between 2000 and 2010. Louzaya was active in group stages etc of African tournaments.
When Didier Drogba decided to show his "Golden Ball" award (which looks very silverish) around his country he also visited the rebel invested town of Bouake. Seeing all the people who were there just to see him, he promised them he and his team would come to play the last African Nations Cup against Madagaskar in their town. No one says 'no' to Drogba and even the president consented and the match, in the middle of the rebel stronghold, is seen as the start of the reconciliation in Cote d"ivoire. Rene Louzaya was the referee.
