  • In a 2004 CECAFA Cup semi-final betwen hosts Ethiopia and Kenya Muhmed Ssegonga and his assistant Yahaya were attacked by Kenyan players. First they hit Yahaya and later on Ssegonga - who tried to run for it - was punched after he had sent off Kenya sider Juma. The police had to rescue him. Oddly enough the match was not abandoned and Ethiopia won in a penalty shoot out.
Ssegongo asked about the toughest match of his career, did not name this match but another one, Al Ahly- Mamelodi Sundowns. One wonders what happened there.
