Pour Mohsen Boukthir. An international career of ten years, referee of several important matches in his own country and all everyone talks about is his 4 months prison sentence.
You probably have to be Tunesian to get all the ins and outs, but this is approximately what happened. March 2008 Boukthir showed up at a local hospital with 11 stabwounds in his hands and arms. He told the police he was attacked by a young man near his home at night.
Everything changed with the testimony of the alleged attacker, an Information Technology student. The young man said he met the referee in a coffee shop and went home with him to "fix his computer". According to the student Boukthir tried to have sex with him. Subsequently a fight broke out and the Tunisian referee pulled a knife.
We assume that Boukthir, who was still on the FIFA list early 2008, was suspended.
