This elite referee is well experienced internationally. He officiated at the 2003 Confederations Cup, Asia Cups (final 2009) and many AFC Champions League matches.

Olympic Ref

After missing the 2006 World Cup in 2006, Moradi must have been pleased by his selection for the Olympic Games in Beijing starting at the 8th of August 2008.

2010

Moradi may be regarded one of the best by AFC, FIFA though first put him on the 54 member shortlist of candidates for the 2010 World Cup, but took him off the new list of 38 in October 2008. It was the last chance for this Iranian referee who had to retire because of his age at the end of 2010.

  • Moradi, Asian referee of the year 2003, almost made it to the 2006 World Cup. Even Velappan, secretary General of the AFC, visiting Iran early 2006, said the top Iranian referee was favorite among his Asian counterparts for officiating in Germany. Still, he didn't make it.
