FINAL

  • Slawick was chosen to whistle the gold medal match when finalist Uruguay protested the appointment of Dutchman Johannes Mutters. After Uraguay had won the semi-final against the Dutch with a dubious penalty, they were afraid to get a biased referee.
Slawick's name then was drawn out of a hat.
Mutters got his final 4 years later.
