LEIF SUNDELL
- In the 2004 Swedish Cup final, Leif Sundell showed a second yellow card to a player without having shown him the first one.
- He is the record holder in Sweden with 262 matches until Martin Ingvarsoon gets more.
- His colleagues gave him a clock when he retired. And a car radio.
- Sundell also refereed in the J-League
- The Casino Salzburg goal keeper got hit by a bottle in San Siro during a 1994 CL group stage match. The Austrian (Otto Konrad) had to go to hospital and AC Milan were deduced 2 points. Still they made it to the final which they lost to Ajax.
- When Sundell was on a referee course in Spain he went to Seville to see Betis play. He was invited to watch the game in the director's box. That turned out to be a mistake because he had also been appointed to the 1998 Cup winner's Cup quarter-final Betis-Chelsea. Since he had been entertained by the Betis people UEFA took him off the coming match. Bulgarian Uzunov replaced him.
