Knadlbinder played as a right wing forward until he started refereeing at 24. Four years later he took charge of his first match in the Oberliga (now Bundesliga). After he retired he picked up coaching.

  • Kandlbinder considered the German Championship final Hamburg vs Koln the highlight of his career. The ref from Regensburg actually suffered a convulsion in his leg towards the end of that match, but a little massage helped him get up again.
