Urrea was active as a center ref at the 1989 U20 World Cup and assisted in 1983 and 1985.
Currently (2010) Joaquin Urrea is general director of infrastructure and tourism in the state of Morelos, Mexico.
He is also a commentator on radio and tv. For instance in a show called Máxima Autoridad.
Well he did get to go to the World Cup in his own country, but acted only as a linesman and only in one match.
- Urrea Reyes said in an interview in 2006 that only the best refs should go to a World Cup and that it didn't matter if two or more were from the same country. The politics of FIFA to also designate referees from countries that don't even have a professional league just to get votes (for Blatter) was wrong.
- This is him in 1983
