Football referee Isaac Baker, familiarly known in football circles as 'Ike' was born in Nantwich, Cheshire in 1873. Isaac Baker refereed the 1926 Cup final between Bolton and Manchester City. He also refereed international matches between Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

Honour

As well as refereeing the 1926 FA Cup final, he refereed 22 internarional matches. When he retired from refereeing he was a football scout for Stoke City, Liverpool and Aston Villa. He was honoured by Crewe and Nantwich Council on their Roll of Honour List, for sporting excellence, in 1990.
