GARY WILLARD

  • A rare and big mistake for a referee: showing three yellow cards to the same player. Gary Willard joined the club in a September 1999 UEFA Cup match when he forgot to send off Lausanne defender Eduardo Magnin after the second card. When Magnin fouled again the ref finally got it right. Oddly enough UEFA did not annul the match won by Lausanne 3-2.
