- Farouk "General" Bouzo was AFC referee committee chairman for more than two decades. Now (2010) he holds honorary titles.
- Bouzo prides himself of being one of the team who recommended the back-pass rule, the rule that forbids a player to pass the ball back (by foot) to his own goalkeeper.
