1912
- In 1920, Christiaan Groothoff went to the Olympic Games in Antwerp, as a journalist. He wrote articles about it and more thsn one was about Spain, a new team to enter the international stage. For most players and spectators Spanish football was something new. The Spaniards turned out to be rough but good, especially a large fellow called Belausteguigoitia. Also the Spanish fans turned out to be something else. They were loud and fanatical and tried to enter the field after their team scored a goal. All new for the (mostly) Northern Europeans.
