  • After the match Ireland-Scotland in 1913 a fight broke out over the match ball. A spectator, Patrick Garland, who had grabbed the ball, was knocked over. When the rumour spread that Garland had broken his leg, an angry mob started smashing windows and gathered in front of the Scottish dressing room. Sheffield Wednesday's George Robertson, who had been fighting for the ball, was arrested.
