Listening to football on the radio with his grandfather, watching his brothers play and his dad referee, Antonio Rubinos Perez comes from a family of football lovers. At 15 he started taking referee courses, in 2003 he reached the Pimera Division. In 2007 he got his FIFA badge, in 2011 he lost it again.

He was a category 3 referee but got demoted to 4 in 2011 but when the categories were renamed he came back to 3. But FIFA (and UEFA) apparently have no way of erasing a referee from their lists during the year: Rubinos Perez retired (was forced to) at the end of season 2010-2011, after having been demoted to the second division. It all started with a bad performance in January in Valencia.
