2010-02-22

Considered one of the best European referees, Per Stefan Anders Frisk suddenly decided to stop in 2005 after he and his family were threatened via letters and phone messages.

Mourinho
Frisk had angered Chelsea fans after dismissing forward Didiier Drogba in the Champions League match against Barcelona. He also was accused by Chelsea coach Mourinho of letting Barcelona's coach Frank Rijkaard into his dressing room. The Swede retired when angry Chelsea fans got hold of his home phone number.

merits
Frisk took charge of two matches in the 2002 World Cup and 8 matches in 3 European championships. One of them was the final France - Italy in 2000.
Another final was in the 1999 FIFA Confederations Cup between Mexico and Brazil in Mexico City.
Frisk missed out on the 1998 World Cup because of a back injury.

at home
Frisk started refereeing in the Swedish (Allswenskan) top league in 1989.
