Tunisian referee nr 1 for a long time Mourad Daami had a somewhat controversial career.
He started refereeing in 1996 and some of the more important games he lead were in the African Nations Cup (2000 and 2002), the Sydney Olympics (2000), World Cup 2002 (Korea/Japan) and the 2005 Confederations Cup.

Barred
Mourad Daami was barred for one year from CAF (confederation of African Football) matches, because he tried to influence South African match officials. (see: did-you-know section). Later on he was installed again.

final
He was in charge of two African Cup of Nations Finals, Egypt-Ivory Coast in 2006 and Nigeria-Cameroon in 2000 and an African Champions League final.
His highest honour must have been his World Cup 2002 match between Mexico and Ecuador.
