Aftre the Scotland qualifier mess-up, Blom got matches in the second division. Normal procedure according to the Dutch FA, all referees get to do their bit in the second division (which is called first division in Holland and is also named after a Belgian beer brand). But a week later all matches scheduled for Blom were assigned to someone else. Food for gossip.

In 2005 Blom was named sportsman of the year... in his home town, Gouda.

The Serbian ADO Den Haag player Aleksandar Rankovic threatened to kill Kevin Blom on January 19, 2007, in a match against AZ. Blom failed to award a penalty and the Serb told him 'When I see you in the city, I kill you'. Rankovic was banned for some matches afterwards.

Kevin Blom showed 3 red cards (2 directly) in the under-21 match for the European Championships between Scotland and Italy in 2005. The match ended in 2-2 but was forfeited and changed to 0-3 later on because Scotland had fielded an ineligible player

Blom says his strongest point is his fitness an his weakest point his lack of concentration sometimes.

Here he is in a commercial for some insurance company, he looks pretty cool though unlike his colleague Bas Nijhuis in the same ad

if there is such a thing as the glamourous life of referees, Blom likes to be included (he looks a bit tipsy with his bow tie askew)
