Peter Jones was a talented young footballer from Leicester, but choose to become a referee in 1971.

Peter progressed to the FA Premier League in 1994 and became a FIFA referee in 1996. In 1999 he was chosen to officiate the FA Cup Final between Manchester United and Newcastle and retired from officiating at the end of the 2001/02 season.

In 2009 Peter started coaching and assessing roles of referees within professional football after he quit his role as Supporter Relations Manager at Leicester City Football Club .
