Armando Nunes Castanheira da Rosa Marques was a FIFA referee for 20 years between 1960 and 1980. He took charge of one match in the 1966 and 1974 World Cup finals and three matches in the 1972 Olympic tournament.

Armando Marques was a FIFA refere from 1961/62 until 1978. He was president of the National Referees 1997 to 2005 and is currently (2010) a member of the Arbitration Commission of the CSF, as well as a delegate to CONMEBOL.
In Brazil, he played 109 matches in the main division and in the state of Sao Paulo he appeared in 215 major league games.
