Craig Thomson started off with a great momentum and had a great first half where he looked on top of things. But then, he lost it in terms of discipline control and when he tried to get it back it looked clumsy and only reactive. He ended up with eight cards, but none of which seemed to have a great effect.
The first half
Craig Thomson booked Limberski (12'') and Murawski (23'') which was completely justified and decided quite comfortably with great ease. I thought he was composed, looked sure of what he was doing and found a medium line in terms of how much contact he would allow. Then things went downhill and he never came back...
The second half
How on earth can you let go a match to which you had a firm grip in the first half? I seriously don't know. Thomson ignored a clear yellow card - a tackling with both legs in front of his eyes - and he allowed Dudka to ellbow his opponents twice without doing anything at all. A Polish player pushed a timewasting Czech twice deliberately in the last few minutes - Thomson booked the Czech player and didn't even talk to the Polish player (he must normally at least book him for this). The Polish players committed quite a number of fouls where Thomson just looked out of his depth. I felt he did too little against time wasting and never got it back in the end.
Not enough for a Euro ...
I thought, this was not enough for a further match in the Euro. A good start, but then sank like a stone in the seond half (below expectations).
