The two favourite teams in the group played this evening, with Spain playing for the victory and the Czech trying to be a "smarter" team waiting for mistakes of the WC champions. This strategy almost worked, but in 2nd half Spain achieved a Remontada with 2 goals from Villa, the new best ever scorer in a Spanish team.
hum...not a world champion team today on the field, but still it was Spain with enjoyable football with results and accuracy in the last 30 minutes. Czech Republic do not have the strength to beat Spain directly. They tried in a tricky way but with no results. In the end Spain was the right winner.
ok performance, but not faultless. His foul detection was a bit dubious sometimes, but not of a great influence. Good use of advantage. Good positioning and in shape. In discipline he was too lenient, forgiving some evident YC. For instance the yellow on the penalty, that would be the second for Czech Republic no.9. I don't understand why he comes running in for every foul to talk to the player who committed the offense, with an ugly face, but he does nothing after that. Both linesman were ok tonight, but with no big cases to judge.
