| Trabzonspor | - | CSKA Moskva |
Trabzonspor got the record last night having the highest number of offsides in CL history in four matchdays. The teams got stuck in midfield having passes around and loosing the ball all the time. It seems both team do not deserve to be fully a CL quality team. Trabzonspor should be proud of having such a good goal-keeper that made great saves. But, if they could have scored last min. attempt, maybe we would be talking different things. Mallenco had an OK/NOK performance. But, I really dont know/think that this performance satisfied his tough UEFA observer. I always expect him to shine over a match, but that never happened.
Calls
It was Min9 when Mallenco correctly ignored to call a penalty for Trabzonspor. Burak was down in the box, but I think the tackle by CSKA defender wasnt that much to let him down. I also agreed not to show him a YC for dive-in. But, in the last minutes of first half, CSKA goal keeper hold the ball with his hands after it has been deliberately kicked to him by his team-mate. Mallenco hasnt whistled anything. That was an obvious indirect free-kick in the box. For the rest of foul detection, he was around the standarts.
Disiplinary measures
He used the method to warn first without showing any yellow. After implementing the technique for two positions, he decided to let his cards out of his pocket. I really dont think, referees should directly apply this anology. Because, players start to focus on the lack of consistency in decisions in these circumstances. Most of cards for rest were correct. He again correctly send Doumbia off by 2nd YC.
