Almost three months after the World Cup and some very doubtful performances by the Spaniard, I have to say that I was surprised to see him today putting on a low-key, sensible and "normal" performance. Well, Werder lost it completely just before half-time going 0-3 down, but Alberto regained some lost ground in my opinion.
Good match flow, quick responses and effectice card management
What a boring match after the double by Eto'o. It wasn't an easy match in terms of handling the match flow as there was quite a lot of tackling and small fouls, but to give credit of our Pamplonian "friend" he acted very calm and responsible. He only gave a yellow to Prödl when he could have got out a straight "Red" considering the situation and maybe also the result. I found him on top of the action, giving advantage when possible and quite the contrary compared to the fuzzyness which created his bad record at the World Cup. Well done in an not too complicated match nevertheless.
