| Besiktas | - | Dynamo Kyiv |
Recently, whenever I start to watch a game, most commonly I focus on the referee rather than the play itself. But, last night I totally forgot about the referee and watched two great teams playing football like a playstation game. I want to congratulate both teams for their efforts to play real football. Of course, Skjerven had a huge impact on that lovely play. He allowed duels to occur and tried to be invisible. And, he was good at that job.
Calls
I do not want to emphasis the mistakes made by referee, yes he missed some fouls, maybe someone else could have whistled a foul on the Besiktas goal. But, Egemen got that high without using the body of Kyiv defender. That was quite normal. I saw two very good assistants who made great flags. Cards he gave were also on spot.
Last word on Carsi
Besiktas have a great fan group called as Carsi. Together they take part in Labour Day marches, do charity work, produce placards for matches, and even protest against government nuclear policy - or just meet up to drink and talk about football. They made their stadium a hell last night. A very enjoyable hell to see at stadium.
