|Bayern Munich||-||Real Madrid|
Howard Webb, now there's a real man for you. A man with a presence, the friendly giant who can be tough if he needs to.
But those are just looks
But Webb doesn't really use his presence, being there and using his whistle seems not to be enough for Webb. He yells and points and talks and argues. And then he talks and warns some more, apparently the talking to does not work. Or he doesn't think it works. Why talk and warn over and over if the players have been warned before?
Wasn't that enough? Is Webbs presence not enough? The big guy? The famous ref?
There were no cards at first, Webb must have thought out a strategy, he does that. Let them fight it out, see what happens. What happened was not what should have happened. No one seemed to listen to his ranting. And there were dives rewarded and fouls not seen. And at the end there were a lot of cards anyway. Maybe it's better next time to show a few cards from the start?
Or maybe it would be better if we didn't see Webb again at this level: Ramos should have been sent off and Marcelo should have been sent off, and the first Bayern goal should have been canceled.
In fact this was a very bad day for Howard Webb. The big man is not up to this.
Still, an exciting match though and the team with the 500 million Euro debt lost.
