This was not a particularly difficult match. Both teams were rather well behaved and the pace of the match was quite low. Néstor did well, and made a good, solid impression, but again he was not helped by his linesmen.
Pitana's linesmen, Hernan Maidana and Juan Belatti were constantly out of position and running after the ball. Consequently they made many mistakes. Wrong offsides, throw ins and unseen fouls. So even though Pitana did rather well, all in all this was a mediocre performance. Néstor was lucky this match was not a very lively affair.
The match itself was not very interesting to behold. The French played very conservatively and only found some fire at the end of the second half, by which time it was too late to regain control. A single goal and some concerted defending were enough to get the Germans through to the semifinals.
