Hauge once was a top referee, the man of the Champions league final. But that is years ago. And he is still there. What else is there to want when you have been there, done it?

Hauge didn't pass it well, his moment of glory, and he wasn't assigned important matches anymore and never asked for a big tournament. But the Norwegian didn't give up, didn't quit, the elite referee is now doing Europa Cup matches, possibly wondering why UEFA and FIFA prefer Ovrebo. We all do, Terje.
UEFA at least should reconsider, maybe Hauge could do another high profile match in the Champions league, because there was nothing wrong with Terje Hauge's performance in this match.

Terje Hauge almost runs next to the guy with the ball, he is that close, but he wasn't in the way. Maybe he whistled a little too often, apparently not his style: read some older reports and you'll see the complaints are just the opposite. He was right with the penalty and with almost everything else.

Weird. 7 goals, Anderlecht creeping closer with every goal to a win on aggregate and then getting behind again when HSV scored. Both teams really believed in it until time ran out.
