This referee, in my mind is the best in the world at the moment. He has such a presence, he is the best. Mr Collina, was a top referee, there were 3 or 4 years where there was no one to take the role collina had, taking all the top matches etc. I think FIFA have found their man.
Does it get any better than this?
Not really, for me, this man shouldn't have been refereeing this match today, he should have been taking control of the final, but he will have his final, in south Africa, in 2010.
Control
Superb in this department. Looks fine with players, as well as having the ability to show yellow cards at crucial times. All the cards were deserved. Alves for the shirt removal? not much more you can do about that!
