This is the first match I saw and I didn't even watch the whole match. But I think I saw enough to say something about Cuneyt Cakir.
Cakir grows on you. At first you think he is just one of the many refs you see during the year. And he is smallish, not a show man at all, in fact you tend to forget about him. There are so many referees and they are all quite good. But Cakir is much better than many referees and you only know this when you look closely. He isn't very big, but players listen to him, he doesn't yell, gets his message through by waving a finger or shaking his head. Even Ibra, who is twice Cakir's height, listened to him
Not a bad match at all, two teams working hard to win. And a kind of boy's dream for an old player like Shevchenko whom we all thought was way past his sell-by-date, but not so....
