Paulo Manuel Gomes da Costa received his FIFA badge in 1999. His international career seemed to have been stalled a little. He reached the group stage in the Champions League and the 3rd round of the UEFA Cup both in 2004, after that it was back to qualifiers and a 1st round UEFA Cup match. He was a UEFA Category 3 referee until he retired at the end of 2009 when he was 45.
