Dick van Egmond started his football career at SV Concordia in Hillegom, but realized soon he preferred refereeing. He was a FIFA ref between 1997 and the end of 2006 and after that he became the Dutch referee boss.
From 1981 he was active for the national association KNVB, in 1987 he started in group 1, in 1991 at the national C-list, in 1992 at the B-list and from 1995 at the A-list. In 1997 Dick received his FIFA badge.
Dick said his greatest game was France versus Romania for 80.000 people at Saint-Denis in 2002. A friendly.
